Real Futures is working with an Employer who is looking to employ a Kaya Peer Worker across the Geraldton area.
To Apply you need to meet the criteria;
A Lived or Living Experience of Recovery, mental health challenges, AOD issues, family or domestic violence or homelessness, or cultural peer perspective, identifying as a consumer and demonstrating a professional understanding of how to use this to inform work as a Peer.
Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or a community work related qualification with view to studying the Peer skill set at TAFE.
A strong understanding of Trauma Informed Practice principles and ability to implement this in day-to-day practice with colleagues and clients.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal and de-escalation skills.
Good interpersonal and de-escalation skills.
Current drivers’ license (not applicable to all roles)
Working with Children Check
National Police Certificate (not required to be clear)
Understanding of computer skills including Microsoft Office and client reporting system
