Practical help to achieve and sustain a job

Momentum helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in North Eastern NSW to overcome common obstacles to securing employment.

Join the Momentum Program and receive support to get your birth certificate, driver’s licence and a lasting job.

The Momentum Program is funded by the NSW Government and delivered by Real Futures in partnership with Pathfinders and ACE Community Colleges.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in North Eastern NSW can achieve: 

Birth registration and certification 
Driver qualifications
Sustained employment

Who is eligible for Momentum Program?

To be eligible for services, you must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and:

Be aged between 16-55 years old. If 16 years, you must have completed Year 10 unless school approval is obtained.
Live in the service area (see below)
Are not employed
Are not participating in other funded activities excluded from this program. Your Momentum Program Manager can advise you of your eligibility for services.

    Michael - Momentum Program

    Michael's Success in Momentum!

    The Momentum program would like to congratulate Michael on his new role with Lack Group as a Traffic Controller!
    Michael signed up for the Momentum program at the Coffs Harbour Roadshow in February 2023. With 6-months, he’s gained his birth certificate, learners license and a job!
    The Momentum team is  currently supporting Michael with driving lessons to obtain his Provisional Licence.
    Despite facing initial challenges in the job market, Michael’s perseverance and determination has paid off. He’s eager to steps into his new role, ensuring safer roads for everyone.
    Congratulations to Michael on this impressive achievement!
    The Momentum Team have been working closely with Lack Group to build a close working relationship, to help secure employment opportunities for our Aspirants.

    Jeremy Donovan is a gifted artist and proud Kuku-Yalanji and Gumbaynggirr man from far North QLD and the Mid North Coast of NSW. 

    As a true survivor of social and economic disadvantage, resulting in imprisonment, Jeremy strongly supports preventative, community-led initiatives that afford Aboriginal Australians an opportunity to become acknowledged, equipped and empowered. He gifted Reach Your Dreaming (pictured left) to the Momentum Program as it reflects a positive narrative of the concerted effort it takes to lay a strong foundation capable of building and maintaining momentum.
