Employment, training and career development for First Nations people in Western Australia.
Shire of Carnarvon Partnership Pic

Real Jobs for Mob is a co-designed, community led program making a real difference to the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the length of Western Australia.

We deliver this program to working aged individuals in Karratha, Roebourne, Port Hedland, Newman, Geraldton, Carnarvon, Perth and Bunbury.

Real Jobs for Mob focuses on 3 key areas:

Tailored Career Development

Working one-on-one with existing Indigenous employees to give them the skills and confidence to progress in their careers

Eligibility

ISEP participants can be any First Nations person, aged 15-years or older. ISEP supports a wide range of First Nation participants, including young people looking for a pathway to training and employment, job seekers, long-term unemployed and employees looking to advance in their career.

Complementary Service

ISEP seeks to complement, not duplicate, mainstream employment services. In this way, ISEP funded activities will make an impact where they are needed most.

For Employment Service Providers

Real Futures works closely with all Employment Service Providers to increase engagement of First Nation Job Seekers. Employment Service Providers can engage with Real Futures if they feel our all First Nation Team can provide cultural supports, guidance and connection to available roles.
In addition, the Real Futures ISEP can assist with employment related documents, PPE, Work Attire or pre-employment training where applicable. A First Nation Job Seeker can be referred to Real Futures ISEP via a telephone call, email or warm in-person introduction.

For Employers

Real Futures works closely with local employers, industry partners, training providers and community organisations to connect suitable candidates with their available roles.

In addition to recommending our aspirants to available roles, we also run a digital jobs board where employers can advertise directly to our pool of candidates.

Our work can also help organisations to meet their Reconciliation Action Plan Indigenous employment aims.

Reach Out Officer (mentors) provide post-placement support and career mentoring to your new employees to ensure their transition into employment is smooth and they reach their potential.

If employers already hire Indigenous staff and would like Culturally informed mentoring and career development, we can provide tailored, individual support to employees.

We can also aid workplaces to be Culturally Safe, inclusive and welcoming to their First Nations employees.

Co-Designed with Community

Real Jobs for Mob has been co-designed with each of the communities we are working within.
Our team hosted roadshows where we sat down with local organisations, employers and community stakeholders to have a yarn about the current state of their job market, where the gaps are and what solutions they felt would be best for their community.
Following these workshops, Real Futures designed tailored Training and Employment Plans for each location, presented these to each group of stakeholders and reaffirmed our commitment to work together to provide a skilled, committed and vibrant Indigenous workforce.
Real Futures will continue to work closely with our local partners and adapt our services to the needs of their communities.
