The Transition to Work employment service helps young people aged 15-24 into work (including apprenticeships and training) or education.
Transition to Work participants receive intensive, pre-employment support to develop practical skills to get a job, connect with education or training, find local job opportunities, and connect with relevant local community services.
We start with a chat to figure out what assistance you need to find a job or return to education/training
Check your wellbeing and arrange for support services such as housing assistance or mental health support when needed
Develop a Job Plan with short-and long-term goals as well as career building pathways
Help you with career advice, writing your resume and cover letters, job applications and interview preparation
Arrange for you to develop skills through training or education which builds on your strengths, abilities, and interests
To participate in the Real Futures Transition to Work program, you must be aged 15 to 24 and living in the Geraldton area.
It will also depend on whether you:
Have a Year 12 certificate or Certificate III
Have been employed within the last 6 months
Are getting an income support payment such as Youth Allowance
Are participating in another employment service such as Workforce Australia Services
Our Transition to Work team will work closely with you to find the right person for your business.
Real Futures consultants will make sure the young person meets your needs and receives pre-employment skills and training relevant to your available roles.
When you hire a young person, you will both get ongoing post-placement support from a Youth Mentor, who will stay in regular contact to ensure your new employee is settling into the role and meeting your expectations.
You may also be eligible to receive a wage subsidy of $10,000 when you employ a young person.
This will help to cover hiring costs or training expenses. Real Futures can help you claim the wage subsidy.
