Since June 2024, our Women’s Business 2nd Chance team have been delivering a highly successful Tiddas in Construction program to First Nations women in Lismore and Coffs Harbour.
Led by our superwomen Program Coordinator Patrice, Tiddas in Construction has trained and supported 29 ladies through the 3-week program.
With their new skills and confidence, many have gained employment with local Traffic Control or Construction firms, who partner with us to connect with job-ready individuals.
We would like to celebrate and share just a few of the success stories we’ve witnessed in the last 6-months.

Megan Archibald
Introducing Megan – a pocket rocket who will let nothing stop her from achieving her goals!
Megan has experienced a few bumps in life and after having a career break to raise her children, felt ready to re-enter the workforce and start a new life journey.
She wanted to build her confidence and be a role model for her children and community.
Megan joined our Tiddas in Construction program and was an absolute pleasure to work with.
We were so impressed with her commitment and dedication. She travelled over an hour every day to attend the training in Coffs Harbour and completed the program with a 100% attendance rate!
With great pride, we can say that Megan has now completed the onboarding and induction to her new role! Empowered and independent, she is set to be an example of strong Indigenous women in the construction industry.
Megan is a beautiful example of what can be achieved with a big goal, eagerness to learn and a bit of hard work!
We are so proud of her and know she is already the role model she wants to be for her children and community
Julia-Ann Narayan
Introducing Julia Ann Narayan – a inspiring woman who has shown that you can do anything you put your mind too!
Julia is a WB2C Tiddas in Construction graduate with an inspiring story of resilience and transformation
In the past, Julia has struggled with drugs, alcohol and the law which she says, led her down some dark paths.
Julia-Ann joined our Tiddas in Construction program and was an absolute pleasure to work with.
After having a realisation that she wanted a different life for herself, Julia showed the courage to move away from her community to seek out a new future.
She found her feet and got the taste of working life, experiencing many different industries.
Recently, Julia moved back home to reconnect with her parents and siblings. Sadly, a short time after moving home, her mother passed away.
Once Julia felt ready to restart her career, she signed up to our Tiddas in Construction program and completed it with flying colours!
Julia’s resilience has proven to be great and after completing Tiddas, she gained a role with LACK Group. She now has the opportunity to go down the pathway of becoming a team leader for their traffic control unit!
Well done Julia, our team is so proud of you!
Cindy Von Salderrn
Congratulations to Cindy who has completed our Tiddas In Construction Program in Coffs Harbour with flying colours and is now putting her skills to work in a new job!
Cindy impressed us with 100% attendance during our 3 weeks together and her supportive nature towards all the other ladies in the course.
She was definitely the mother hen of the group!
Coming from a retail background, the pivot to traffic control was a big adjustment at first but she’s fit into her new (work) boots well!
We are so proud of Cindy and her achievements.
She was a dream to work with and we look forward to seeing her grow even more on her career journey.
Tomikah Silva-Mundine
Meet Tomikah! She has completed our Tiddas In Construction Program and now has a deadly job in Traffic Control with Spinifex!
Not only that, she has recently been offered a Machine Operating Traineeship with Winslow and is excited to get started!
Tomikah has been a pleasure to work with and we’ve been impressed by her motivation and initiative.
She always arrived early and stayed behind afterwards to help pack up. This really demonstrated her desire to get into work.
“Thank you for opening doors and showing me opportunities that I didn’t think I’d get”
Tomikah has stood with great pride in her work throughout the program.
It’s been great to watch her strive to her very best and accomplishing her dreams!
Tiddas in Construction is a program funded by Department of Employment & Workplace Relations and the Workforce Australia Local Jobs Fund.
