Celebrating the Success of Tiddas in Construction!

Tiddas in Construction

As our Tiddas in Construction program comes to a close, we would like to celebrate its incredible success, congratulate our graduates and acknowledge our wonderful partners.

Tiddas in Construction was a tailored program for First Nations women, designed by Real Futures and funded by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.

>> You can find out more about it here <<

We had 40 deadly First Nation Women participate across Lismore and Coffs Harbour, all graduating with their Traffic Control ticket, other construction statements of attainment, and a Real Futures ‘Get Ready’ work certificate.

Within these cohorts, 22 women gained employment straight after graduation!

Many of these women had experienced personal struggles which had created barriers to training and employment. One of the most important outcomes for us was seeing their confidence grow, their commitment to the program hold strong and the way they supported each other in their group.

We would like to thank our program partners who we couldn’t have run this program without.

A huge thank you to the Department of Employment & Workplace Relations and the Australian Government for funding this initiative. In particular, John Morris and Fiona Ward.

Special thanks to Peter Skorupanovic and Terri Grendon from Local Jobs Program North Coast, and Sonny Neale and Stefanie Morgan from Mid-North Coast Jobs.

The excellent training was delivered by CHS Training and we were also supported by Training Services NSW.

Thank you to the entire team at TURSA Employment & Training, led by CEO Ian McEwan, for their support throughout the length of the program.

We’d also like to acknowledgement Enterprise and Training Company, Verto, APM, and Bamara for referring their clients into Tiddas.

Last but not least, a massive thanks to Lack Group, with special mention to Colin Pratt, for the employment opportunities they created for our graduates.

Real Futures feels privileged to work alongside the Government and local partners to creating lasting impacts for First Nations women!
