Caring for your children at home shouldn’t mean putting your career on hold. But for many parents, the barriers are very real.
For Aleisha, those barriers were practical ones — she needed the flexibility of online study to fit around her children, and the cost of a laptop was out of reach. Her goal of a career in the care sector felt distant.
Through our Parent Pathways program, we connected Aleisha with Keys Institute, where she is now enrolled in a Certificate III in Individual Support that is fully online. We provided her with a laptop, so she has everything she needs to succeed in her studies.
Our Parent Pathways team is continuing to support her. When she completes her course, we will help her with getting the required checks to help her find employment in the care sector.
