Real Futures and Pathways to the Pilbara was co-founded in 2011 by Wendy Yarnold and Brad Carbutt with a focus on supporting workers.
In 2017, we gained two new shareholders, Nyanggai Warren Mundine AO and Angus Knight Pty Ltd.

Nyunggai Warren Mundine is a respected Aboriginal Leader and spokesperson who was the former National President of the Australian Labor Party and former chairman of the Australian Government’s Indigenous Advisory Council. He is a best-selling author and was recently appointed to the NSW Government’s Social Impact Investment Expert Advisory Group. He now leads Real Futures as our Chairperson passionately injecting strategies to improve economic outcomes for Aboriginal peoples.
Angus Knight is a highly regarded organisation that specialises in Disability Employment Services (Jobfind Employment Centres and half owner of Joblife Employment), RISE Ventures (a Community Development Programme provider) and LearnNow and Sum Total, both specialising in learning and training.
A board of directors oversees the company’s activities.
Real Futures has staff employed across New South Wales, Northern Territory and Western Australia.
