In November last year, nine of our Exmouth CDP Aspirants were given the opportunity to undertake a three-day Traffic Management course that was a collaboration of Real futures and Central Regional TAFE.
Being somewhat remote in Exmouth, training opportunities are few and far between but a very welcome resource when made available to our aspirants.
The course was conducted on-site at our Real Futures location and the practical assessment carried out in the nearby industrial area. The course was run by Allen Duff, Traffic Management Trainer and Assessor from Central Regional TAFE Geraldton.
All nine of our aspirants were keen students and passed the course with flying colours.
The training was offered in this region in preparation for road works that will be carried out this year between Geraldton and Exmouth, via Carnarvon.
All nine accredited CDP aspirants have been referred for future employment when these road works begin, however, the start date has been pushed back due to recent severe flooding in the region.
Zayden and Angela were provided with workwear for their new positions and the Exmouth Real Futures team went for a drive to see them in action on their first day on the job. Both were all smiles and did an amazing job directing traffic safely along the main road, as it is upgraded and widened.
Thanks to our Real futures Gascoyne Team, and Central Regional TAFE, we have been able to make a difference in these two awesome aspirants’ lives
Real Change, Real Growth, Real Futures.
