The Real Futures supervisor team does a great job with community engagement. The teams helps local churches, assists a few elderly ladies with gardening and there is still so much to do out on the Real Futures Plantation.

Sean Challis’s excavator holding the power pole stable while we poor and set the cement. Without Sean’s excavator the Real Futures team would not of bean able to do the job ourselves
We need a power supply on the river to power the pumps that will provide us the water on the plantation. One of the many jobs to get the plantation operational.
This required a 9 metre power pole to be installed. Horizon Power provided Real Futures with a quote of nearly $9000.00 just to supply and erect the power pole.
- Supervisor Glen hand mixing the cement
- Dwayne stabilizes the formwork
Regional Manager Sean Challis thought this price was very excessive for the job at hand. Sean Challis sat down with our Project Manager, Sean Ford and set out a plan for the Real Futures Team to do the job themselves.

Supervisor Dwayne stabilising the power pole while it gets braced
With the use of Sean Challis’s personal excavator, the team were able to dig a 1.5 metre hole for the power pole to be placed in, and then using the excavator lifted the 200kg power pole in place for cementing.
Well done to all involved.
