Our Transition to Work Geraldton team have had an eventful October, attending events with Aspirants, employers and education providers!
We hosted a stall at the Midwest Community & Employment Expo hosted by MEEDAC and TAFE. This expo was a chance for attendees to explore careers options and meet with employers from a range of industries, as well as connect to services like ours.
Two smaller events we facilitated in October were a student information session at Champion Bay High School and an Eastern Guruma employer session. These were both a great opportunity for us to connect one-to-one with students and employers. This is especially important with students as knowing a familiar face and having trust make it easier for them to join our program.
These events are an awesome way for us to interact with potential aspirants and build relationships with other community organisations so we can make more impact together!
