A proud Yinggarda man, Resharne commenced employment as a farm hand in January. In this role, Resharne has developed practical skills such as learning to use a chainsaw and gained accreditation (First Aid, AusChem). He’s looking forward to commencing the Certificate I in Horticulture.
Looking ahead, Resharne is eager to continue developing his machinery skills, with the goal of transitioning into the Real Futures “Protecting Our Country” project. He remains motivated to build on his experience and pursue opportunities aligned with this pathway.
One of the aspects he enjoys most about his role is working alongside his crew. He values the team environment, where colleagues learn from one another, build strong working relationships, and support each other’s personal and professional growth.
With the support of the Driving Access and Equity Program (a Department of Transport initiative delivered by Real Futures), Resharne has successfully obtained his Provisional Licence. He expressed excitement about achieving this milestone, as it will provide greater independence and enhance his employment opportunities.
“Being employed gives me motivation, purpose, and a sense of pride,” Resharne shares.
