Tahlia get on track to a nursing career

Tahlia didn’t have a plan when she joined our Parent Pathways program in Grafton. Now she’s on track to a career in nursing! Anxiety and OCD were impacting her confidence and decision-making, and she needed the right support to move forward.

Here’s how our Parent Pathways team supported Tahlia.

  • Wellbeing support: We helped her access therapy to manage anxiety, trauma and stress. Tahlia made real progress.
  • Clear career pathway: With guidance from her Parent Pathways mentor, Tahlia explored interests and mapped out realistic next steps. She completed a Pathways to Nursing course and has now enrolled in a Bachelor of Nursing.

Before Parent Pathways, tasks like booking appointments or walking into a new playgroup were significant hurdles for Tahlia. Anxiety and OCD made these everyday actions feel unmanageable. The wellbeing support and mentoring she received through the program gave her the tools and confidence to start taking these steps independently — from organising her son’s specialist appointments to securing daycare and building social connections through regular playgroups.

The impact of our tailored, wraparound support is clear. We meet people where they are, addressing the barriers in front of them, and walk alongside them as they build momentum.
