Our Carnarvon Community Development team does a great job with community engagement.

They help local churches, assist elderly residents with gardening and regularly work on the Real Futures Plantation.

For the plantation to be operational, it needs an irrigation system to feed the fruit and vegetables we’ll be growing.

With a river close by, we can directly pump the water into our irrigation system. However, this needs a power supply!

Carnarvon Manager Sean Challis consulted with Horizon Power who recommended that a 9-metre power pole be installed.

Sean knew that the Real Futures team had the skills and equipment to get the job done themselves.

With the use of his personal excavator, the team were able to dig a 1.5 metre hole for the power pole to be placed in. They then used the excavator lifted the 200kg pole into place and cemented it there.

Well done to all involved!
