The Real Futures Transition to Work team attended the Aboriginal Justice Open Day on November 11th 2022.
Our aim was to seek assistance for our aspirants and we had a wonderful outcome.
The day was supported by several agencies such as the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, Sheriff/CDO, the Department of Transport, Services Australia – Centrelink, Regional Alliance West, Westpac Banking, Criminal Injuries Compensation, WorkSkil Communicare and the Australian Electoral Commission.
The combined efforts of all agencies and Real Futures provided the young men with all their identification needs.
The result was 10 Real Futures aspirants receiving their learner’s drivers licensing, photo identification cards, Centrelink appointments, Medicare card applications and 100 points of Identification – just to name a few!
Four Young Men from the Real Futures Cert III Civil Construction and Plant Operations course received their L Plates and Identification. They had recently completed the last four weeks training without an issue.
The Course Trainer, Beau, commented “These boys have exceptional results, and I cannot fault their work”.
The group have diverse and challenging backgrounds. The support Real Futures provided has resulted in drastic changes in the young men’s circumstances.
