Inclusive Employment Australia will replace Disability Employment Services (DES) later in the year. It will focus on helping people with disability, illness or injury to prepare for, find and maintain employment.
About the Inclusive Employment Australia program
The Inclusive Employment Australia program will help create a more inclusive future where people with disability, as well as those with injury, or health conditions can get support to find jobs and grow their career.
The program places participants at the centre of the service.
It will improve and simplify services for people looking for work, as well as employers and service providers.
More people will be able to access the new program including:
- people with an assessed work capacity of less than 8 hours per week
- voluntary participants not getting a Centrelink income support payment
- there will no longer be a two-year limit on the time people can stay in the program.
The new program will have an improved service offer including:
- intensive support for people who are preparing to be ready to work
- flexible support for people who don’t need intensive services.
Transition from DES to Inclusive Employment Australia
The Department of Social Services will be working with providers across Australia to implement the new program from the 1st November.
Customers across our services will receive communications ahead of the new service to help them understand what it means for them and anything they may need to do.
The support you need to find the work you want
It’s important to find a provider that suits you. At Real Futures, we are all about understanding you and your goals. We want to do more than find you a job, we want to help you achieve your career and life goals.
We’ll take the time to get to know you, understand your skills and abilities and what kind of support suits you best. Together we will come up with a plan to set you on a path towards the right job.
We’ll stick with you once you’re in work, continuing to assist both you and your employer. We go the extra mile to understand your new workplace and consider potential adjustments or workplace modifications so you have the best chance of success.
