Tracy’s passion shines through every day as a mentor with the Tailored Assistance Employment Grant (TAEG) program. This life-changing initiative walks alongside Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in Sydney and the Mid-North Coast, helping them discover their strengths and build their future.
“I’m there to motivate” Tracy shares warmly.
She helps participants set achievable short-term goals, providing constructive feedback and encouragement to keep them moving forward. She also emphasises the importance of work-life balance and stress management, ensuring participants feel supported both personally and professionally.
Understanding and respecting participants’ backgrounds and traditions is at the heart of Tracy’s approach. She incorporates cultural knowledge into her mentoring by celebrating milestones during cultural holidays and events, creating a sense of connection and pride.
For Tracy, success isn’t just about securing a job—it’s about building confidence and readiness for all aspects of employment. From pre-employment training, resume building, and workshops to attending interviews, Tracy ensures participants are equipped to seize every opportunity.
TAEG’s commitment doesn’t end with job placement. Tracy continues to mentor participants for 26 weeks post-placement, addressing challenges and celebrating progress.
She also conducts milestone check-ins with the program’s participants at 4, 13, and 26 weeks to ensure they are meeting expectations and thriving in their roles.
