Helping Saint John Volunteers

Saint John has an elderly gentleman that requires regular ambulance trips to the hospital at all hours of the night and the only access to the house for the gurney is the front door, but it had to be dragged through 10 metres of soft sand.

The local Saint John volunteers reached out for help, and our Real futures team offered our time and labour.

Colin Lawer a local retired carpenter gave his expertise for forming up the job and the Friends of Citizens Under Stress (FOCUS) thrift store paid for the cement.

Colin is the gentleman leveling the concrete and our supervisors Shaun Capewell and Glenn Blood were the labourers. Sean Ford our Project Officer was also in attendance.

Well done to all involved, it is great to help our local community.
