Real Futures provides training, employment, and support programs for First Nations Australians, many of whom have complex needs. We work hard with local partners to ensure that the community can have employment opportunities in their hometown.
For the month of October and November there were 26 employers that have received the incentives across the Gascoyne Region (Denham, Exmouth, and Carnarvon) as a result of them employing a First Nation Australian.
The incentive encourages the employer to check with Real Futures first for applicants and offers the local residents first the opportunity before taking applicants from other towns. The funding helps employers train and support their new employees during the early period of their employment.
The incentives are made available by NIAA through the Community Development Program (CDP).
Once a remote job seeker has been employed full time for 26 weeks and the incentive is payable through the CDP provider.
An employer is eligible to receive a one-off payment of up to $10,000 (exclusive of GST) for full time employees or up to $5,000 (exclusive of GST) for part time employees.
