Karleah Is Achieving Her Biggest Goal Of Working In Education And Care

Karleah Working In Education & Care

Karleah is one of the beneficiaries of Real Futures new Supported Employment with Granny Glasgow Education and Care.

Karleah came to us with short-term experience in the hospitality industry, but a primary goal of working in the education and care industry. The Real Futures Carnarvon team was able to give her the opportunity to achieve this goal through the TPRJ supported employment program.

Our Regional Manager and Post Placement Support Officer approached Granny Glasgow to negotiate trialling the TPRJ program.

Granny Glasgow had a long waiting list of clients so didn’t hesitate to take the opportunity to support Karleah. They offered her a role as an Early Childhood Educator Trainee.
This will also benefit their services while allowing Karleah to gain skills and qualifications in the industry.

Granny Glasgow’s manager is very happy, supportive and works collaboratively with Real Futures to help Karleah achieve her qualifications. They are dedicated to providing a quality experience so she can be employed as an Early Childhood Educator

Within the first week of attending her supported work placement, Karleah completed Child Protection, Cleaning and Food Safe Preparation training with Granny Glasgow. She shared with us that she’s learned a lot and is enjoying every moment.

Karleah has also created a positive bond and connected with the children at the Centre. She will continue to work at Granny Glasgow with the support of her supervisor and senior staff.
