Excited to share our NAIDOC week celebrations at Gascoyne, packed with Ceremony march, tree planting to represent the 5 language groups, question and answer sessions with one of our very own , Sean Challis, on the panel and last but not the least, the sporting event- Dart tournament for NAIDOC with specially designed shirts to represent the Carnarvon Dart Team.
Canarvon Pioneer Cemetery was founded in 1880 and closed in 1973 although officially the last person to be buried there was in 1980. The Cemetery has become overgrown, and a bit uncared for. So, the Real Futures team was delighted to get our tools our and muck in to tidy the place up, and show our respect or those who have passed. Many of the team had relatives buried here, and Real Futures is proud to have this as one of our projects.
A Real Futures CDP project in Carnarvon WA has started an ongoing project cleaning up areas of the bush and scrublands of the Cornish Street area. Twelve CDP participants, Real Futures Supervisors, and NIAA were there for the mammoth effort.
