Celebrating our first hospitality graduates at Jardilunji Mia café in Carnarvon

Hospitality Students

Congratulations to our hospitality graduates and a warm welcome to our new students!

We recently had 4 incredible students gain their Certificate II in Hospitality while being trained on the job at our Jardilunji Mia café in Carnarvon.

A huge congratulations to Tayanna Dowker, Christine Winmar, Regina Mitchell and April Lockyer – we are so proud of you!

These students are now ready to start their careers in our thriving local hospitality and tourism industry. The Real Futures team will continue to support them as they transition into fulfilling work.

Together we were involved in some special events including the Gascoyne Food and Beverage launch, supporting chef Paul Iskov’s Indigenous Fireside Flavours evening, learning to forage with Rennee Turner from Wooramulla Journeys, and being part of Chef and WA Food Ambassador Don Hancey’s at ‘Around the Firepit’ gastronomic odyssey!

Jardilunji Mia is located inside the Gwoonwardu Mia Cultural Centre and we love sharing the gift of local food with tourists from across the world.

A big thank you to Central Regional TAFE WA  for partnering with us to train and mentor our students.

During the certificate presentation, we also welcomed 9 new students who have begun their Cert II Hospitality training and work in the café.

In the past month, they have already completed a barista course and had cookery training in the Carnarvon Yacht Club.

We can’t wait to see what the next 6-months bring them!
